Review 631: Being the Ricados
Being the Ricados has an interesting true story at it's core and two well matched leads, but ultimately it feels less than the some of it's parts.
Taking place over a single week of production of "I Love Lucy", stars Lucille Ball (Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) face a series of professional and personal crises that threaten their show, their careers and their marriage.
The film offers intriguing insights but it fails to deliver on its promises.

Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are certainly an odd paring, though I suppose in that sense it reflects the oddball couple dynamic between Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. Sadly, Kidman feels miscast and When playing someone like Lucille Ball, you need someone who is more quirky and eccentric. Kidman, unfortunately, doesn’t posses that
Bardem, luckily, delivers a charasmatic turn playing Desi Arnaz
Clark Gregg has a very noteworthy role playing
