Titanic is beautifully made, sweeping and touching epic romantic disaster film and one of James Cameron's best films and

In 1912, Southampton, the luxurious passenger liner RMS Titanic is about to set sail on her maiden voyage to New York City, among its 2,224 passengers are 17-year-old aristocrat Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a poor artist who

That Juxtaposition of the rich and the poor, the gender roles played out unto death (women first), is brought to the forefront of the film.

James Cameron's direction is unobtrusive and gives the film the grand and tragic feel it deserves, the cinematography is gorgeous and captures the beauty of life aboard the titular ship, the scenery is breathtaking, the production design (recreating the Titanic) is stupendous and alive with detail, the costumes are lavish, the score by James Horner is uniquely beautiful, the special effects are seemlessly tremendous, an amazing blend of scale models and CGI to showcase the spectacular and tragic sinking with sensitivity and an eye for detail.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are luminous and lovely in their roles.  Even though Rose is engaged she's far from being in love and is only in this marrige to secure her family's wealth. She's got a lot to give is someone with a very open heart and wants to explore and adventure the world.

The film also features a very noteworthy performance from Bill Paxton as Brock Lovett, a treasure hunter whose been searching for the Titanic for three years and whose deadlines are fast approaching. Whilst Jack and Rose are the centrepiece and the emotional core of this romantic disaster film, Brock acts as our unofficial guide to this historical disaster.
