Review 293: Love Actually


Love Actually is a (as it says on the poster) a very romantic, very funny, incredibly touching, utterly charming and extremely christmasy rom com, one of Richard Curtis' best films and a near perfect Christmas film.

The plot follows ten separate stories that examine the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: love and its different aspects through a wide variety of characters, many of whom are shown to interconnected as their tales progress.

The plot is a beautifully written series of vignettes.

Richard Curtis' direction is the cinematography is beautiful and captures the beauty of London in the days leading up to Christmas, the production design is terrific, the costumes are splendid, the scenery is lovely

Love Actually features an extraordinary cast of actors, Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightly, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Rowen Atkinson and even some great actors who were at the time of this films release up-and-comers at the time such as Martin Freeman, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thomas Sangster, January Jones and Rodrigo Santoro.
