Review 471: The Children Act


The Children Act is admittedly a huge tearjerker, but it's also beautifully complex and has a lot to say about human nature and b by superb work from its three leads.

Based on the novel The Children Act by Ian McEwan, Fiona Maye (Emma Thompson) is a judge in the High Court of Justice of England and Wales. Her full on commitment to her job puts a strain on her marriage with her husband Jack Maye (Stanley Tucci)

The plot is

Emma Thompson & Stanley Tucci are excellent in this film as is Fionn Whitehead as Adam Henry

Director Richard Erye's direction is sensitive, the cinematography is the score by Stephen Warbeck is beautiful,
