Review 586: Three Days of the Condor

Three Days of the Condor is a taut, suspenseful and tightly plotted conspiracy thriller that keeps you guessing until the very last frame.

Based on the thriller novel Six Days of the Condor by James Grady, Joseph Turner (Robert Redford) is a bookish, mild mannered CIA analyst code named "Condor" comes back from lunch one day to discover that all of his co-workers murdered and subsequently tries to outwit those responsible.

The plot is positvely gripping from start. In spite of deviating greatly from the original book (the action being relocated from Washington to New York and practically all the character's names being changed), the results   Given that this film came out soon after Watergate, it was a very culturally relevent film for its time.

Director Sydney Pollack's direction is the cinematography is splendid and captures the  the synthesized score by David Grusin is splendidly catchy, the production design is
