Review 605: Spanglish
Mexican immigrant and single mother Flor Moreno (Paz Vega) finds a job housekeeping for world class chef John Clasky (Adam Sandler) and his wife Deborah (Tea Leoni), a well-off couple with two children of their own. When Flor admits she can't handle the schedule becuase of her daughter, Cristina (Shelbie Bruce), Deborah decides they should move into the Clasky home. Cultures clash and tensions run high as Flor and the Claskys struggle to share space while raising their children on their own very different terms.

Adam Sandler, so often the centerpiece of lowbrow, brainless comedies, reminds us again that he can be a subtle actor. The fact that for the most part he's playing second fiddle to Vega.
