Review 617: Gosford Park
Gorford Park is a slice of Old England, a cellebration of styles
In November 1932, a party of wealthy Britons plus an American producer, and their servents, gather for a shooting weekend at Gosford Park, an English country house. A murder occurs after a dinner party and an investigation is conducted from the servents' and guests' perspectives.
At its core, Gosford Park is a study of the British Class system during the 1930s; As stated by Stephen Fry (Inspector Thompson), the film shows the upper class’s dependency on servant class. The film also explores the impact of the First World War
The score by Patrick Doyle is fantastic,
