Review 676: Causeway
Lynsey, a soldier returns to her home in New Orleans from Afghanistan, where an IED caused her to suffer a severe brain injury. As she improves with rehabilitation, she forms an unlikely friendship with James (Brian Tyree Henry) an auto mechanic, who also has physical and mental trauma.
It gets a lot of milage out of its 92 minute runtime

Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry are terrific together; they have such a warm and gentle screen presence and onscreen chemistry and they bring the right amount of nuance and sensitivity to their roles.
Linda Emond is also playing Gloria, Lynsey’s mother.
