Review 768: LA Confidential

Like Roman Polanski's Chinatown, this is engrossing, suspenseful and gripping noir mystery film that  This is a twisty 50's Private Eye thriller that manages to weave all of these 

The film has a gorgeously rich and vibrant look, giving us a version of 53 LA that's picturesque and all set to a beautifully grand score by Jerry Goldsmith. The locations have a lot of texture and depth thanks to DP Dante Spinoti's fabulous cinematography.  

Kevin Spacey feels tailor-made to play a character like Jack Vincennes, effortlessly bringing the swagger and the 

Guy Pearce 

Russell Crowe  Bud is a perfect contrast to Vincennes

Kim Basinger is also   She looks stunning in her red outfits.
