Review 8: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2
Harry, Ron and Hermione continue their quest to destroy Voldemort's Horucruxes after destroying one of them, all the while Voldemort becomes stronger and they discover the significance of the three Deathly Hallows. When the trio discover a Horucrux inside Hogwarts they decide to go back, but Voldermort has control of the school with Professor Snape (Alan Rickman) as the new headmaster and Dementors gaurding the grounds and are looking for Harry.
But You Know Who now has the yet unbeatable Elder Wand, he aims to complete his final stage to ultimate power and launches an attack on Hogwarts School, where the trio return for one last stand against the dark forces that threaten to take over the Wizarding and Muggle worlds.
The plot magnificently written J.K. Rowling really is fabulous author
Part 2 builds on top of Part 1 in the most incredible ways possible. It has everything you could want from a Harry Potter film and its not only the end of the series but also a huge part of my childhood.
David Yates really shows how great a director he really can be in this final film, the score by Alexandre Desplat is wonderful, the special effects are brilliant, the production design is a masterpice, the make up is marvelous, the costumes are epic, the cinematographer is breathtaking, the editing is impressive, the ending is excellent and their really is a sense of honest emotion in this film.
The acting was tremendous, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson really gave it their best this time and I know they'll miss it as much as we will, Matthew Lewis has some of the best scenes in the movie as Neville,
I have to give special praise to both Alan Rickman and Maggie Smith as Snape and McGonagall show true emotion in his role and Ralph Fiennes is such a brilliant Voldermort
By this point in the series, it's safe to say that Alan Rickman has officially cemented himself as the MVP of the Harry Potter series
Additionally, Warwick Davis, Jim Broadbent, Emma Thompson, Gemma Jones, Miriam Margolyes, Ciaran Hinds, Kelly Macdonald, John Hurt, Robbie Coltrane, David Bradley, David Thewlis,
Natalia Tena, Gary Oldman, George Harris, Domhnall Gleeson, Clemence Poesy, Mark Williams, Jason Isaacs, Helen McCrory, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Felton, Sean Biggerstaff, Georgina Leonidas, Bonnie Wright, James and Oliver Phelps, Evanna Lynch, Freddie Stoma, Anna Shaffer, Alfred Enoch, Devon Murray, Katie Leung, Josh Herdman, Scarlett Byrne and Michael Gambon round out the cast and light up the screen with thankless performances.
Harry Potter is a one-of-a-kind fantasy series: Its a story about life, bravery, friendship, conquering your fears, what you can do if you put your mind to it and growing up. I guess that's why the series is so popular and that it will always stay in hearts forever, 5/5.
