Review 48: (500) Days of Summer
The film is about two people named Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Zooey Deschanel) and their 500 day relationship. The film chronicles their ups and downs and it leaves wondering how life will work out for the both of them.
The plot is well written and is original and funny and as I said is a great look at relationships. Its a bit like Bridget Jones in the way that it makes you feel good and and the ending just warms your heart,
the soundtrack was catchy, it looks really well made, its sense of humor is honest, its use of nonlinear is innovative, it's charming, its makes you feel refreshed, the editing is fast, the directing is precise and its beautifully photographed.
The acting is great, I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel played their roles very honesty, we really grow to care about them and they have great chemistry.
They call this a romantic film but I think its more of a coming of age because for me theres more character development.
(500) Days of Summer is (as I said earlier) is a bit like Bridget Jones, its a warm, feel-good comedy you want to watch after you've had-lets say a hard day at the office and you want a good laugh, but its also got a reare honest quality most rom coms lack these days.
